THE ROLE
Based on strong insights the Category Manager orchestrates activities to change shopper behavior and attitude in the home ambiance category. He or she acts as a business partner in the assigned areas of responsibility, by steering towards growth of the Home Ambiance category and the Bolsius market share. The Category Manager reports to the Head of Category & Shopper Marketing.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Category Manager will lead translation of the Home Ambiance Vision 2025 into effective shopper marketing plans per country/channel/key customer, to drive category growth.
He or she is able to inspire and influence all internal and external stakeholders by bringing forward the category marketing plans (via marketing P’s).
The successful candidate collects and analyses sell-out data, reveal market insights, market development and trends, with actionable insights from a shopper and trade perspective.
You challenge commercial and brand initiatives on KPIs, share learnings and drive improvements.
The Category Manager translates insights and shopper marketing plans into shopper activation and instore initiatives, in line with Brand Strategy and commercial priorities, and provides direction towards regions, local markets, marketing and business units, to improve launch excellence and efficiency of activation in local markets.
He or she contributes to the strategic selling narrative at the Home Ambiance and concept/initiative level, and translates the strategic selling narrative to customer events and B2B media planning to drive the Bolsius image and category leadership.
REQUIREMENTS
You hold a Bachelor’s or university degree focusing on commercial/marketing, and have three to five years of work experience in a trade/shopper marketing position within an FMCG environment in European Retail (food or non-food). You master IRI/Nielsen/GfK, and have excellent analytical, project management and communication skills. You are multilingual, with English and Dutch, with an international (cultural) scope, and a willingness to travel.

With this knowlegde you are able to move seamlessly from strategical to tactical implementation. You have a natural feeling regarding organizational sensitivity and a holistic view.
